While its founders (David and Scott) have Ph.D. degrees in geotechnical engineering, they both worked in consulting engineering practice before attending graduate school and thus have an appreciation for the challenges of “real projects” in the “real world”. Because of their appreciation for the real world, Scott and David wanted Dataforensics to develop real-world products - to be used by you - the consultants and government employees in the commercial world. Scott and David founded Dataforensics in 2002 to support you and work with you to improve our products by using your feedback and experiences.

Why start a software company to help collect borehole data?

Although Scott and David established Dataforensics with a business plan and a vision of helping field personnel collect field data easily and quickly, they knew that transforming long-established practices would require developing partnerships and a reputation for quality products and support, one client at a time. PLog, our flagship product, has been quite a success with over 300 client organizations using it in 15 countries.

Field data collection is why we founded the company, but is only a small part of the story of our company.
